On 4th, September 20220 Don Bosco Navajeevan organized an awareness camp on Road Traffic Safety and Vocational skill development trainings for youth from Jalari Pet and Paindora Pet in Visakhapatnam. Total 100 both boys and girls participated in the camp organized at Beach Blossom bridge school, Jalari Pet.
Fr. Balashowry, the Director, Don Bosco Navajeevan welcomed all the youth for the meeting and highlighted the importance of Road Traffic safety rules for the safety of the youth who drive the motor cycles and cars. He mentioned that many road accidents take place in Visakhapatnam and many young boys are dying at the young age due to the carelessness and not following the traffic rules. The police commissioner of Visakhapatnam district appealed to the NGO, s during the meeting on 2nd, August to create awareness and stop the premature deaths of youth. Taking the call from Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatnam Navajeevan organized the awareness camp on the Road traffic safety rules for the youth at Jalari Pet.
Mr. Bhaskar Rao, the sub-Inspector of Police who participated in the meeting appreciated Don Bosco Navajeevan for organizing the camp. He said every citizen has got the responsibility to follow the traffic rules designed by the police department in order to avoid the accidents. He said many accidents are taking place due to the rash driving and not wearing the helmet by the motor cyclists while driving the two wheelers. Helmet saves the lives of the people during the accidents so it is mandatory to wear the helmet by the people. He also highlighted the drink drive which causes the most of the accidents as the people lose the balance while driving the vehicles. Finally, he threw the light on the DISA app for the protection of the women and he appealed to the young girls to register in the DISA app to save themselves from any rape attempt or ragging by the boys. After that a poster was released on traffic safety rules by Mr. Bhaskar Rao, the Sub Inspector of Police, Mrs. Kondamma, the local Corporator, Fr.Balashowry, the Director, local YSRCP leaders and the youth.
Followed by the poster release an awareness talk was given on the importance of vocational skill development trainings by Mrs. Suchitra, the director, Prajwala Vani. She shared with the participants that she is working with the mentally retorted children and also the prisoners in the jail and promoting the vocational skill development trainings among them. She highlighted that all the vocational skill trainings are aimed at earning decent income for the people. The vocational skill trainings promote the livelihood for the youth with the skills learnt by them. There are different vocational skills trainings available in tailoring, computers, Jute bag making, beautician etc. which are promoted by government and Non Government organizations in Visakhapatnam. Patience and concentration is very much required to learn any skill and establish oneself or as a group and earn income. Later, a poster was released by the guests and resource person on the vocational skill trainings offered by Don Bosco Navajeevan, at Devipuram and also at Skill development centre, Jalari Pet.
