On 26th, August 2022 Don Bosco Navajeevan staff and Vocational skill training students participated in the Mega beach cleaning drive at Naval Canteen area under the leadership of Fr. Balashowry, the Director and collected the plastic waste and garbage in the GUNNY BAGS from the beach area adjacent to Naval Canteen area. The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation organized mega beach cleaning drive at 40 locations in association with Parley for the oceans from Visakhapatnam Naval Canteen area to Bheemii Beach area covering 26 Km coastal area. The college students, NGO representatives, Navy personnel, civilians, total 22,000 people participated in the mega beach cleaning drive and collected the plastic garbage of 76 Tonnes of waste from the coastal area.
50 Navajeevan staff and trainees extended the best cooperation in cleaning beach area at naval canteen. The vocational skill development centre, Jalaripet trainees expressed their happiness and also sense of pride in taking part of the historical event organized by the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation.
Mrs. Satya one of the participants from beautician training centre said she would have missed the joy and happiness of participating in the mega cleaning drive if Navajeevan had not participated.
Mrs. Konda from beautician training centre expressed that she enjoyed the nature and beauty of the sea in the early morning. She felt the sense of satisfaction to participate in the cleaning drive and she would cherish the experience throughout her life. She considered her duty and responsibility to be part of caring for the Earth Mother.
Ms. Pavani from tailoring training centre shared that it was nice experience of participating in the beach cleaning program along with other participants. She said she liked the programme as she enjoyed the cleaning work along with her co-trainees.
Ms. Manga from tailoring centre was delighted to see the big gathering doing the cleaning. She said she realized the value of people’s power for achieving greater things.
