On 24th, November Don Bosco Navajeevan, Visakhapatnam along with Visakha Forum and Vizag Smiles and like-minded organizations organized get together for 450 children from different orphanages and homes working under Child Welfare Committee, (CWC) Visakhapatnam. The program was started at 10.30 a.m. with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest Ms. Hymavathi, Fr. John Prakash, Director, Visakhapatnam Diocesan Social Service Society, Fr. Balashowry, the Director, Navajeevan, Visakhapatnam inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. This was organized in St. Mary’s B.Ed. College Auditorium for the children who are in various homes due to lack of care and protection.
During the inaugural ceremony the Chief Guest Ms. Hymavathi, Chairperson, SCPCR highlighted that children are the Center of the society and need to be protected and given due care and attention for happy Childhood. Fr. John Prakash, Director of VDSSS, who participated in this program as special invitee showered the blessings from God saying that Kingdom belongs to these little children and reminded them that they are blessed with healthy and friendly atmosphere During this program a poster was released by the honorable guests with the theme “All Rights to All Children”. Later children took part in various games organized by the volunteers where every child experienced the joy of togetherness and uniqueness/Individuality.
The concluding ceremony was organized at 2.30 p.m. and a magic show was organized to entertain the participants. Mr. Dronamraju Srinivas Rao, VMRDA Chairperson participated as the chief guest of the program. He appreciated Don Bosco Navajeevan for organizing this event and bringing 450 children together and also for rendering services to the children at risk through their shelter and community-based programs. He emphasized that all the people must work towards the protection of the child rights and then only the children can enjoy their rights without any difficulty. During the concluding ceremony Fr. Balashowry spoke to children about the Rights to All children. Not only these children present here and but also the dropouts, victims of child marriages & other abuses have the rights to come up in life. And there is a call to “Make our VISAKHAPATNAM as CHILD FRIENDLYCITY”. He also reminded children that not only the rights but also the Responsibilities to children towards other children, family and at large society. During the concluding ceremony the chief Dronamraju Srinivas Rao, VMRDA Chairperson and other dignitaries released the poster on All Rights to All Children.
