“Children are the future, nurture them right, so that they grow up to be able leaders and lead the world towards light”.  Happy children’s Day! From 1964 onwards, the Birth day of Jawaharlal Nehru has been celebrated as Children’s day throughout India. A day to remember the first prime Minister of India, who loved children as much as he loved his country.

            The children’s day was celebrated by Vizag Navajeevan Bala Bhavan children too. There was a mood of joy in the air and a glow in the face every child as we combined the celebrations of Beach Blossom School and Manger School. The manger school children from Thattichetulapalem came along with staff to Beach Blossom School by 10.30 Am. All the children gathered at beach and had competitions like running race, Kabaddi, lemon and spoon race etc. all the children participated well and enjoyed the same.

            After the games proceeded to School and had a creatively arranged cultural programs by Beach Blossom Children. During which the Director Fr. Ratnakumar gave a meaningful message to children urging all to be like children in learning and in innocence. There was also a speech by a student narrating the occasion.  At the end of the cultural events prizes were distributed for all the winners and gift for all the children. Children were also provided delicious lunch. By 3.PM manger school children were brought back to the slum. 

            It was a great day for all the children especially for the little children from manger school as it was their first exposure from the slum. It was not just another day for them but a day of learning and new hopes. The day ended but the sweet memories of it will remain forever.
